چکیده

Indirect estimation of compressive strength through non-destructive testing is key to monitoring the structural concretes used in construction and rehabilitation works. However, no models are available perform this highly Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) with Recycled Aggregate (RCA). To fill gap, two indirect measures were tested paper, hammer rebound index Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV), predict SCC. do so, 24 SCC mixes developed different aggregate powders, binders, such as Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS), contents fine RCA. Compressive strength, both all mixtures determined at 1, 7, 28, 90 days. The development specific for responded inappropriateness conventional that not adapted its high fines content. Modelling a function either UPV or yielded accurate predictions, although model proved more sensitive compositional changes presented higher uncertainty. best predictions modelled by combining measures. provided safe estimations flowability real structures.

Prediction of Lightweight Aggregate Concrete Compressive Strength

Nowadays, the better performance of lightweight structures during earthquake has resulted in using lightweight concrete more than ever. However, determining the compressive strength of concrete used in these structures during their service through a none-destructive test is a popular and useful method.  One of the main methods of non-destructive testing in the assessment of compressive strength...

Compressive Strength and Capillary Water Absorption of Concrete Containing Recycled Aggregate

This paper presents results of compressive strength, capillary water absorption, and density tests conducted on concrete containing recycled aggregate (RCA) which is obtained from structural waste generated by the construction industry in Turkey. In the experiments, 0%, 15%, 30%, 45% and 60% of the normal (natural) coarse aggregate was replaced by the recycled aggregate. Maximum aggregate parti...

Performance of Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement Containing Recycled Concrete Aggregate

In 1995, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) began reconstruction in Houston on a section of IH-10 with continuously reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP). The unique aspect of this project was the use of crushed concrete as both coarse and fine aggregates in the new concrete. No virgin aggregates were used. The primary objectives of this study were to evaluate (1) the material propert...

Towards Better Understanding of Concrete Containing Recycled Concrete Aggregate

The effect of using recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) on the basic properties of normal concrete is studied. First, recycled aggregate properties have been determined and compared to those of normal aggregates. Except for absorption, there was not a significant difference between the two. Later, recycled aggregates were introduced in concrete mixes. In these mixes, natural coarse aggregate was...
